P. Pelliculosa (Wild) – Spore Print

Psilocybe pelliculosa is a species of psychedelic mushroom that belongs to the family Hymenogastraceae. It is known for containing the psychoactive compounds psilocybin and psilocin, though it is considered to have a relatively low potency compared to other *Psilocybe* species. This mushroom is commonly found in the Pacific Northwest region of North America, particularly in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia.
Psilocybe pelliculosa typically grows in coniferous forests, often in areas with disturbed soil, such as along paths and roadsides. The mushrooms usually appear in the late summer to early winter, thriving in the cool, moist climate of the region.

Morphologically, Psilocybe pelliculosa has a conical to bell-shaped cap, which can range in color from brown to yellow-brown and often has a sticky surface when fresh, which is characteristic of the species. The gills are close and attached, with a color that transitions from grayish to dark brown as the spores mature. The stem is slender, typically yellowish to brown, and can reach up to 7 cm in height.

While it shares some psychoactive properties with other Psilocybe species, Psilocybe pelliculosa is noted for its milder effects, making it less commonly sought after for recreational use. However, it remains of interest within mycological and psychedelic research communities for its unique characteristics and ecological role.
