Strain origin Cambodian cubensis a very well domesticated classic Cubensis hails from the northwest Cambodia region. Rumored to have been retrieved by a anonymous Mycologist in the foothills of the second largest city in Cambodia, Krong Siem Reap near Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is the largest religious complex on the planet. No surprise to mushroom enthusiasts the significance of these occurrences. Cambodian is a large bulbous shaped mushroom, with brown caps and tan stems. The area local to Angkor wat was completely off limits though much of the 80’s and 90’s due to a dictatorship communist government, it was not till 1998, however, relative stability and a rejuvenated tourist industry have revived the city and province.

  • Gill formation – Gills typically are medium to large, wide range of formation. Likely to have available gills for spore production. Spores do discharge.
  • Microscopy features Purple spores. Spore measure 7 x 12 micrometers. This variety does typically discharge plenty spores. Microscopes and magnification equipment are recommended for viewing microscopic features.
