Squat Mac – Isolated Syringe; is a Melmac Penis Envy Psilocybe Cubensis, carrying some very unique physical features. Throwing massive grenade fat fruits, high density  and full flushes no one can deny this unique phenotype is a world class genetic.

Squat Mac – Isolated Syringe, originally coming from a spore isolation that Mindful Myconaught discovered. Melmac in general is an extreamly stable genetic and rarely produces new phenotypes. This is due to three plus decades of isoaltion done by the homestead book company called “Homestead Penis Envy” and later known as “Melmac”.

The Squat Mac – Isolated Syringe pheno was originally found on high levels of manure and has since been exposed to a spectrum of substrates with consistent results. For the entire year of 2022 Bas worked to enhance this genetic and isolate & stabilize its unique phenotype squat features.

In a rare finding bas found a handful of squat macs that were dropping spores, a feature that was lost to most melmacs due to its mutated form. We are offering a rare opportunity to pick up a squat melmac spore print from the spore co-op team. These are incredibly limited as we where only able to observe and capture from very few specimens.

Melmak was formerly known as “Homestead Penis Envy” from the homestead book company. They published many very well known mycology books that are mainstream today. In the early 1980’s Rich Gee found “penis envy” from a amazon mushroom strain. Since then this variety has changed a lot with many isolation specific traits. The homestead PE or melmak is a classic version of some of the original findings. Very large, prevalent fruiting, and usually containing  a greenish hue. Over the past 40 years since Rich found the original mutations, penis envy has become the ultimate strain for isolators building off his work. Offering mushroom growers kits and publishing books on fungi, the homestead book company closed its doors after 45 years of business in 2017.

Gill formation – Gills typically are medium to large, wide range of formation. Likely to have available gills for spore production.

Microscopy features – Purplish brown spores.  Spore messure 7 x 12 micrometers. This variety Melmak does not typically discharge spores. But has dropped spores from time to time. Germination of spores will often be observed having clamp connections and fine feathered mycelium. Microscopes and magnification equipment is recommended for viewing microscopic features.
